President’s Message

Dear NVOS Members,

Dear Fellow Orthopaedic Surgeons and Members of the Nevada Orthopaedic Society,

As an orthopaedic surgeon in Nevada, you are aware that there are challenges with governmental intrusion in health care affecting the way we practice medicine. In addition, there are insurance company regulation hurdles, and we are all striving to do our best to remain relevant with information and advancements in our field. The Nevada Orthopaedic Society can help us face all those challenges.

The 2021 legislative session provided many challenges, and the Nevada Orthopaedic Society will continue to ensure Nevada’s patients have access to quality medical care and to ensure that physicians have statutory and regulatory frameworks that support the viability of our practices.
Our membership benefits, such as ongoing advocacy, educational programs, and communications efforts, are all designed to help protect our members’ practices while enhancing the quality of care for the public.

Membership in NVOS provides:
Legislative advocacy
Participation in the regulatory process
Joint advocacy and regulatory efforts with other medical professional organizations CME meetings

Communication via the NVOS website and regular email updates Networking opportunities
Up-to-the-minute alerts on important state and federal issues

This year we will have to fight against potential changes in MedMal among other issues that directly affect us and our practices. This year there is a Legislative session, now is a crucial time to renew your membership and continue your involvement in NVOS, as our strength lies in the diversity of our ideas and in our ability to come together as one unified association.
